Laboratory
The Laboratory at Electra Memorial Hospital provides a wide range of on-site testing. Our CLIA-certified facility has the equipment and staff required to provide you and your physician with quality care with accurate and reliable results with an above average turnaround time. This allows our medical staff the ability to expedite patient care.
The professional team members at the Electra Memorial Lab are highly qualified with many years of experience. In addition, our commitment to patient care is important to us. For example, our phlebotomists are certified and give our patients a extra personal attention to make sure they are as comfortable as possible.
We are continually upgrading instrumentation and available testing. These tests are usually specialized and/or complex in nature. LabCorp is our routine reference lab. They are an extension of our lab giving the physician and the patient quality results in a timely manner.
Our laboratory is under the direction of certified pathologists from Pathology Associates of Wichita Falls. They work closely with the lab manager, administrator and the physicians at Electra Medical Clinic. Performance Improvement and Proficiency Testing programs are in place to assure quality testing and customer service.

Emergency
The Emergency Department at Electra Memorial Hospital is a level IV trauma facility with 24-hour on-call coverage. Our medical staff consists of physicians and a nurse practitioner who can aid you back to recovery during an emergency.
Level IV Trauma Designation
A level IV trauma designation requires that all physicians covering the emergency room remain current in advanced trauma life support. It also requires that at least one registered nurse (RN) providing care during a trauma is trained in trauma care. At Electra Memorial, we strive to send all of our RNs to trauma courses so that each patient will receive quality care.
Level IV means that we have been certified by the State of Texas to provide basic stabilization and treatment of trauma patients. We also provide each RN with the opportunity to remain current in cardiac and pediatric basic life support.
Experiencing the ER
Should you need to visit our emergency room, you will be assessed by an RN who may obtain your blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, body temperature, and oxygen saturation.
You will be asked details about your presenting complaint. It is always best to bring all of your current medications with you so that an accurate list may be obtained. The medical provider on call may order additional tests and/or medications.
If you have a primary care physician, it is best to contact them prior to visiting the ER (for non-emergency complaints). Often, your physician can take care of it by phone, saving you a visit to the ER. For basic healthcare services, we recommend you visit Electra Medical Clinic.
